Fiction Fanatic Fridays ~Let's Go BARGAIN Hunting!~ Giveaway!!!

Okay, so I know I've been completely AWOL for the past month.....or two, but I have a good reason why. See when it's summer time, I am forced to be as lazy as possible according to the tradition of summers past. But, if one week, I've got this urge to blog, ever so badly, I have to remind myself that's it's summer, and blogging would mean I'm being productive and efficient; which are two things that are not allowed during summer vacation. So, I apologize that I haven't been around to host FFF on my blog this whole summer. But, school is back in session and so is FFF! YEAH!!
Don't know what FFF is? Here is the short and long version. Fiction Fanatic Fridays, is a weekly meme I host right here on my blog. Every Friday, I'll ask Y'all a trivia question from a random book off my bookcase. Now, if you're a fiction fanatic, the question will be a no brain er. The first person who answers the question correctly (and leaves a valid e-mail address), gets a beautiful (if I do say so myself) bookmark that they design themselves.
But don't sweat if you don't know the answer to this week's question. You can always try your luck again and come back next week. You never know what book will be next.

This week we are going Bargain Hunting. Bride In The Bargain that is.LOL By Deeanne Gist. Bargain is my favorite book of Deeanne's to date. I LOVE the backdrop of the lush woodlands of Washington, that Deeanne paints for her readers in Bargain. I could be reading this book in the dead of winter and it could still make me think it's lush, green and above an "Arctic chill" outside.

To me, Bargain is the perfect read, for summer and winter alike.
So, enough of my gushing about this book, let's go hunting for the answer.

Here is this week's question.......
In Bride And The Bargain, Anna Ivey refuses to marry lumberjack, Joe Denton. Anna stays with Joe as his cook and maid and when she makes the comment that the tree right by the house will one day fall and destroy the house, Joe brushes her off. After an argument between Joe and Anna, Joe makes it his mission to fell the troublesome tree. He believes that by cutting down the tree his late wife planted, he will win Anna's heart and ultimately her hand in marriage.
What type of tree was it?

As always, the prize for the first person who gets the right answer and leaves a valid e-mail addy will get a personalized bookmark like this

Good luck and I can't wait to see who wins!!
Love Ya,
Ashley

Fiction Fanatic Friday ~Giveaway!! ......and a winner

Before we start, I want to say congrats to Katy @ A Few More Pages for winning She Walks In Beauty by Siri Mitchell. I hope you like SWIB Katy, as much as I did.:)

Every week, I host a meme right here on my blog called Fiction Fanatic Fridays or FFF. On Fridays, I'll ask a question from either a random book off my shelf or a question that has been picked by the FFF winner from the week before. The first person to comment with a vaild e-mail and the correct answer , wins a costume bookmark like this------->

Amber @Seasons Of Humility was the lucky winner last week, so, this week, she got to pick this question, from The Frontiersman's Daughter by Laura Frantz, to ask Y'all.

So, here we go.....
When newcomer Ian Justus finds a red ear of corn at the Powells' corn husking party, to whom does he choose to give a kiss?

I've never read The Frontiersman's Daughter (though, I hear it's really good) so, not even I know this the answer to this one.

And as always, cheating is allowed. You can Google, Bing, Yahoo Answer even look in the book if you like, to find the answer.

I hope Y'all are having a great summer so far and are getting in some good reads as well.LOL

Love Y'all,

Ashley

Fiction Fanatic Fridays...On Saturday?

I'm so sorry I didn't post this yesterday but, believe it or not, I totally thought yesterday was Thursday. I know, I know, who could possibly not know it was Friday. But, that's what happens when your cell phone dies. It was like having my right arm cut off. *ouch*. My cell phone helps me to function like a human being.....most of the time.

Anyways welcome to Fiction Fanatic Friday. If your new, let me introduce you to FFF. Every Friday, I'll ask a question from a random book off my shelf and the first person to leave a comment with a valid e-mail and the correct answer, wins!! And if you're a Fiction Fanatic, I'm sure, it'll be easy as pie (to borrow the colloquialism) to answer these questions.

Now, last, last week I started a new thing where the previous week's winner gets to choose the next FFF question. Congrats to Casey for winning and here is her FFF question taken from The Inheritance by Tamera Alexander:

McKenna Ashford lives in a small town in the western United States, Copper Creek Colorado and makes saddles for a living…what is the name of the livery owner that McKenna sells her saddles through and her brother works for?

As always, you may look in the book, google even e-mail the author if you'd like.
And of course the winner of this week's FFF will receive a personalized bookmark like the one pictured below.
I hope Y'all are having a great weekend, so far!!
Love Y'all,
Ashley

Fiction Fanatic Fridays!! ~Giveaway~

I'm sooo glad Y'all here and ready for another week of FFF. If your don't know what FFF is, let me throw some light on it: On Fridays, I host a weekly meme here on my blog called Fiction Fanatic Fridays or FFF. Every Friday, I'll ask a question from a random book off my shelf and the first person to leave a comment with a valid e-mail and the correct answer, wins!! And if you're a Fiction Fanatic, I'm sure, it'll be easy as pie (to borrow the qualocalism) to answer these questions.
Last week everybody asked me if they could cheat on the questions. Well...... of course Y'all can!! Like I said (in a comment last week), you can search through the book, ask others and even Google it if you want. Fact is, I don't even know the answers to these questions without a little...er, lot of help from SeƱor. Google (I know, I know, how awful is that?;~)

Anyways....

This week we're taking to the high seas with one of my favorite pirate stories, The Red Siren by M.L. Tyndall. Out of the whole Charles Towne Belles series, The Red Siren was my favorite. Full of adventure, pirates and not to mention the romance *sigh*

So, here is this week's FFF question:
Faith Wescott's sister Hope, has set her eyes on a philandering dandy named Arthur Falkland, . One night, Lord Falkland takes Hope to a sorrid part of town, to a filthy tavern know for it's rum and women. What is the name of this infamouse Charles Town tavern?

Okay Y'all, just as a reminder, cheating is allowed (well.....it's technically not cheating, per say). And Oh!! I almost forgot, the prize, as always, is a personal
bookmark like this one------->
That you can customize however you like.

I hope y'all have fun with this question and I hope ya have a GREAT weekend!

Love Y'all,
Ashley

P.R. (Prayer Request)
My mom is going into surgery today for her foot (she has a severe heel spur) and she has had a hard time recovering from things like this in the past, and with added stress of my Dad's job status and my sister's wedding, I know it's not going to be easy for her in the next couple of months. If you could keep her in your prayers, I'd so appreciate it, Y'all:)
Love Y'all!!

Fiction Fanatic Fridays ~Giveaway!!

Welcome back to another week of FFF Y'all! If your just joining us, Fiction Fanatic Fridays or FFF is a new meme (sort of) that I'm hosting on my blog. Heres the whole spiel: Every Friday I'll ask y'all one question from a book, the first person to leave a comment with the correct answer and valid e-mail wins a customized bookmark like that one --------------->

Okay, so y'all ready?

Last week I choose a book that's newer and so a lot of people hadn't had the chance to read yet. So, this week, I'll be asking a question from one of my favorite books of all time, A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman, and I'm hoping since it's been out for a few years , y'all have gotten to read it too!!;)

Here we go!

After America enters the war, fathers and sons two have been drafted, the remaining members of the O'Connor family go to Ireland to live with their grandmother and great-grandmother who is near-deaths-welcome mat. While there, Faith O'Connor gets a star spot on The Irish Times writing pool. What is the name of the pub that the Times reporters love to frequent?

I hope y'all have fun with this one!! Have a great weekend!

Love Y'all,
Ashley

Fiction Fanatic Firdays ~Giveaway!!

For the short time I've been blogging, I've never really gotten into the meme thing on here but, I have lots of blogging buddies that LOVE them. So, thought I could start something that's not really a meme but, will hopefully be just as fun. :) I really want you guys to let me know what you think of it and what you would change or do, to make it better.
So, here's the spiel: Fiction Fanatic Fridays, is basically, every Friday I'll post a question or excerpt from a book and if your a fiction fanatic you'll most likely have read the book five times, already have it memorize cover-to-cover and probably be able to answer the question.LOL The first one to answer correctly and leave a valid e-mail addy by commenting, will receive a personalized custom bookmark, like the one pictured below. Most of the "particulars" haven't been worked out yet but, I guess we'll see how it goes. *crossing fingers and saying my prayers*LOL;D

This week I'm in need of a major chocolate fix, so the question today is coming from one of the sweetest books on my bookshelf.
Here we go:
In Love Finds You In Hersey Pennsylvania by Cerella Sechrist, Sadie Spence has a daughter named Kylie. How old is Kylie exactly, in the book?

Now, if your a Fiction Fanatic, it should be easy as razzleberry pie (unless your like Sadie) to answer this one. And again, the prize if you win will be a lovely custom bookmark like this one (I'm so sorry the picture is so bad and blurry) -------->>
Alrighty, good luck and I hope you guys have fun!
Love Ya,
Ashley
P.S.
I really appreciate any and all comments and suggestions you have about FFF. Whether you like the idea or down-right hate it, I'd love to hear from you! Thanks Y'all!;D
