Countdown To A Hope Undaunted: My #8 Can't-Wait-To-Read of 2010

It's day 3 of our countdown, and I don't know about you, but with each day, I'm getting more and more excited for A Hope Undaunted. The worst part is, that as soon as I read AHU, I'll be near-dieing to read Julie's next book in The Winds Of Change series, A Heart Revealed. But, it won't be coming out for A WHOLE OTHER YEAR!!! Ahhh!!! I don't know if I can last that long.
Anyone want to go on a road trip with me to Missouri? Anyone? Anyone? ;D Hahaha, LOL.

Today's AHU question for Y'all is: which Lessman character do you think you're most like?

For me, I'd say... I'm a cross between Katie and Beth; because, I'm always saying something snarky, to practically everyone; and I'm the youngest of six kids, like Katie is, so I really related to her in book, in so many ways. On the other hand, I LOVE reading romance books like Beth and it would be my dream job, to go to work at the fictional book store, Bookends; where in Denied, Beth and her best friend are both employed.

Now, my #8 "Can't-Wait-To-Read" of 2010 is...

A Tailor-Maid Bride by Karen Witemeyer

When a dressmaker who values beauty tangles with a liveryman who condemns vanity, the sparks begin to fly!
Jericho "J.T." Tucker wants nothing to do with Coventry, Texas's new dressmaker. He's all too familiar with her kind--shallow women more devoted to fashion than true beauty. Yet, except for her well-tailored clothing, this seamstress is not at all what he expected.
Hannah Richards is confounded by the man who runs the livery. The unsmiling fellow riles her with his arrogant assumptions and gruff manner while at the same time stirring her heart with unexpected acts of kindness. Which side of Jericho Tucker reflects the real man?

When Hannah decides to help Jericho's sister catch a beau--leading to uproarious consequences for the whole town--will Jericho and Hannah find a way to bridge the gap between them?

Why it's my #8 "Can't-Wait-To-Read" of 2010? :
Well, first off, I'll admit that it was the cover that first caught my interest. I'm a full-fledged "cover-junkie". There, I said it! I can't seem to resist a beautiful cover. But, when this book finally came out and all these reviews were posted, it started sounded like a really great book. When you put two people, who are complete opposites, together, how can the book not be a winner?

What Y'all's #8 Can't-Wait-To-Read of 2010?
Love Y'all,Ashley
!!ONLY 7 DAYS LEFT TILL A HOPE UNDAUNTED COMES OUT!!

P.S.
I've been feeling really rotten lately, cause I feel like I'm leaving God out of these posts and I started this blog with the idea that all thing would center around God and His Holy Son. So, now with each post, I'll be putting a verse that I read in my devotionals that day. It may have nothing to do with the post or it's content, but I believe that God's Word is never irrelevant and is will always be applicable .

Here is today's verses: John 21: 22-25
22 Jesus saith unto him, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.

23Then went this saying abroad among the brethren, that that disciple should not die: yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but, If I will that he tarry till I come, what is that to thee?
24This is the disciple which testifieth of these things, and wrote these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
25And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.

  1. I don't know who I'm most like...probably Katie because I tend to have quick comebacks! I'm looking forward to reading A Tailor Made Bride too!

  2. Since I missed #9, I'll post two.

#9: Storm Thief, another sci-fi book by Chris Wooding. I LOVE his books, even if his endings make me want to throw the book across the room ;)

#8: Love's Enduring Promise! I read Love Comes Softly already, and I just bought this one for my Kindle. So excited!

  3. Without a doubt I am most like Faith. We both want to wait for the right Prince Charming to come along and she longs to grow in the Lord and do His will, which I want to do as well. I learned so much with Faith and grew along with her while reading APMP, and I think that is why it is my favorite.

My #8 can't wait for read in 2010 is: DeeAnne Gist's Maid to Match. I think it looks great and as a new Gist fan I would love to read it!!

    Old follower.

  4. Ashley,

First, I love the idea of putting a verse at the end of the post. :) And when you say that God's Word is never irrelevant, you are speaking wonderful truth! Thank you so much for reminding us of where are focus should be.

As far as which character I am most like...I'd like to think I'm a mix between Faith and Beth. I hope I can have a strong faith like Faith, and as the older sister in my family and as a rather introverted girl, I think I share some similarities. ;) And I'm like Beth in that I daydream a lot, read a lot of romance, and have a hard time in the past not sharing my feelings in some way and trying to get the boy. ;) Thank goodness I'm happy being single right now! ;)

I've heard great things about A Tailor-Made Bride, too! It looks like one I would want to read sometime. And I'll make a confession with you: Hello, my name is Amber, and I am most definitely a cover-junkie. ;) I LOVE beautiful covers, and generally that's what really attracts me to a book (along with a good synopsis and/or good reviews). ;)

    ~Amber

P.S. Ariel, I'm so glad you have the second book now, so then you can read the third one in order. ;) I think you'll love it!

  5. This was one of the books I bought the day it was released. At the time, I didn't really care how good the story was - I was in love with that cover! (I have purchased several books lately based on the cover art.) Lucky for me, I liked the story too! Loved the humor. You won't be disappointed.

  6. I loved Tailor Made Bride!!!!

I'm a mix between Faith and Beth. I waited for my Prince Charming and I love God with all my heart! I'm also very shy and read with any and all spare time I have. (With a child, sometimes that's not much)! :)

My #8 can't wait read is Stars in the Night by Cara Putman. (And I'm not really putting these in order of how much I want to read them. My top 9 is probably a 9-way tie). :)

  7. Amber- Me too! :D I had some extra Amazon cash sitting in my account and I knew you were sending me the third one so I figured reading them in order would be ideal :)

  8. @ Ashley, I love the idea of including a verse of the day. You never know what the Spirit might do in someone's heart because of it.

@Bluerose, Hey, you stole my answer! Lol. And almost the same reasons.

Forgot to mention another I can't wait for now is The Colonel's Daughter by Laura Frantz. I guess we will have to wait a while though.
